Carly is a beautiful Blue Tick Hound. "Ticks" are the little dark pigmented areas on the white parts of her coat...so named because they resemble ticking fabric.

This painting isn't quite finished -- I still need to paint in her whiskers and darken a few more of her "ticks" -- but she's such a beauty I wanted to post her portrait right away.
